The Parish Council

The St. Thomas parish council is a group of men and women who represent the entire parish by guiding it’s plan for growth and development. Parish Council members are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the church, as well as special tasks which include providing an usher service for donations, parish events, and special holidays. Members are voted in by the parish to join with the pastor in a special service of long-range planning, the setting of parish priorities, and the implementation of programs throughout the term. A member’s term shall last for a period of two years, and a member may not exceed their membership in the council for any number greater then two terms.

Parish Council Membership Requirements

  • Members must maintain a goal to serve for the betterment of the parish.
  • Members are required to commit to a minimum of 20 hours of service per month.
  • Members must participate in weekly Saturday and Sunday masses as well as any other days of holy obligation.
  • Members who fail to abide by the requirements shall be removed from the council.

The Parish Council assists the Pastor to conduct Parish affairs so that the Parish will be able to effectively carry out its mission as a Chaldean Christian community including but not limited to assisting during Sunday masses. Please follow the link for the Parish Council application.
