Mission Statement
CLC
Chaldeans Loving Christ (CLC) is Saint Thomas’ high school program which offers a unique way to build a relationship with God. Everything from Chaldean social pressures to the virtues come into sight while gathered in the Social Hall of Saint Thomas Church.
CLC was designed for high school teens. (Grades 9-12) This program moves at a faster pace than a traditional catechists program. Teens’ ideas and thoughts are always heard, and questions are addressed through an informal setting; leaders of the program are often found among teens before the night, during small group and after the night.
Most of all, it is our goal to let God’s message be revealed through the Holy Spirit as He guides us through each night in prayer. CLC is about building and deepening a teen’s relationship with Jesus and feeling a sense of “Home” here at St Thomas. We connect them to Jesus through the Eucharist with Eucharistic Adoration within each night. CLC evenings are creative and eventful gatherings that allow teens to explore their faith in concrete ways, and help them build Christ-centered relationships with each other and the CLC servant.
In a world of fake and empty relationships, teens truly need “big brothers and sisters” who are genuinely interested in their lives, believe in their potential, pray for and with them, take the initiative to spend time with them, and go to “their world.” This kind of relational ministry is what brings teens into direct contact with God’s love, and leads to true spiritual growth.
